Good call on the model type, and well done to Neil for the short kit. As I'm very busy at the moment I have chosen the iGull route, so I would be grateful if the rest of you will refrain from distracting him until he gets my kit in the post.

I'm only able to cut 100 a day, so take it easy on the orders

As it gets closer to the actual event, the cost of the parts kit rises exponentially of course, so best to get them now while they're hot and 'cheap'

Despite being on the other side of the planet I'll be building one.
Great choice. Looks like about 2-3 hours of build time.

My Tomboy is now setup for S/C on the button & waiting for the right conditions but this may end up flying first.

Of course, I will build one too. Thanks to Neil my short-kit is already on the way (I get lazy in the old days). Also I have to much work with other tranny replicas.

Just to let you know, there are no excuses to not build one...my dad at 86 and my companion in crime for 57 years have built his.
....and yes red tissue on both but dad was more faithful to the original

What are the flying weights of your fleet of Pulstars? I am trying to see if the motor I have is likely to be man enough?

Hi Gordon,

Mine is under 8 ozs ready to go. 25 watts will just do based on the 50watts/pound recommendation for vintage / slow. Fly models. The Pulstar is basically a powered glider, not a speedster. My set up will give around 25 w on a 2s lipo and 45w on a 3s lipo. High KV motors are better as it allows you to use a smaller diameter prop. Cox 020's used a 3" one from memory. There are loads of multi bladed mini Multirotor props available that will do .

....or you just raise up the engine mount and go for regular props
Both mine and dads is in the range of 6 to 8 oz.
Suggestion is to keep the tail light to avoid unnecessary ballast in the nose!

Despite working 27 of the last 40 hours I'm off the mark.
Mine will be 3mm sides with a 1mm doubler in front of the wing & 6mm cross grain top & bottom so I can sand it round. Otherwise stock.
I found some 6lb/foot balsa in my stash so should stay a reasonable weight once sanded.
