Futaba FT-3A Boxed Set

This one, to me is a real prize. I have only seen photos of the light blue one in past.
I think Futaba also used the same case on their F66 model as well.
This one is missing the small 8 AA cell battery box.
I tried fitting a typical 8 AA cell holder but it is too big
(hard to believe they needed 12V for this!).
The box says that it has a F4-LRS relay-less Receiver in it, however this one had a
a Futaba F327R relay type partially wired to a Graupner Kinematic actuator for a boat.
There is also a loose double sided cube type receiver of unknown make which was loose in the box of proportional
radios.
I am thinking of either converting it to 2.4 if possible, or perhaps leaving it alone and maybe
making up a demo stand with the Kinematic and motor. Does not look like there is a lot of room
inside for an XHT RF module and one of Phil's little boards and have room left for a battery.
For now I will get some batteries and try it out over the weekend.
Anyone ever converted one of these?
Mike
