New method of making TX nameplates

Post by RON »

Ive been experimenting on a new method of making a transmitter nameplate, 100% aluminium.
Using blank aluminium satin black business cards, or any colour you can get hold of, I can laser engrave them using my Xtool laser engraver/cutter.

The results are outstanding,

Advantages are the text/graphics are very difficult to scratch off, almost impossible infact without using sandpaper, you don't need to use any vinyl and you don't need to spray them with clear lacquer either, they are just 100% aluminium.

Disadvantages are, the laser won't cut them so they need to be cut by hand, however, because these are so thin, I just bend them at the outline and they snap cleanly. limited to the size of the business card, I guess larger sizes may be available from somewhere.

Here is a short video of what they look like, I think this may be a game changer.
