Calling all Tom Boy Senior builder:

Just started my Tomboy senior to fly with my newly build S/C system.

It will be electric powered. My question is where is the best location to install the flight battery. Some close up photos of the installation will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you all in advance and sorry if this tropic was discussed before.

Mine uses a 3S 1000 which fits loosely behind the undercarriage former, between the engine bearers (I lost the hatch cover somewhere!)
I've an awful lot of lead in mine, best to keep the tail as light as possible

Hi Phil:

Based on your photos: -

1) How long is the flight duration with the said battery size?
2) The amount of dead weight in the nose is certainly frightening. My guess is that you have around 150 grams of lead in the plane. I am not a light builder and I have a bad habit to modify existing design thus I suspect mine will have the same problem.
3) Was your model intended for IC engine operation before you convert it into electric, I am asking because the engine bearer was there.
4) Out of curiosity, what is the size of motor are you using?

Might be worth extending the nose a bit, or at least mounting the motor a little further forward. I sometimes do the latter by using long bolts, and padding behind the motor using nuts and washers on the bolts. This also allows the down thrust and side thrust to be easily adjusted, if necessary.
