Cox Failsafe R/C for free-flight

Happened across this today and its the first time I've seen either of these (identical) systems reviewed.
Its what we would now call 'FF assist' and had a "turn-left" button and a "turn-right" button. Simple enough!
Its particularly interesting to me because I have Boddo's actual receiver/servo brick from this article:

I had one ...probably still have in some forgotten corner...they flew extremely well and the equipment was actually proportional as Cox had 2 version of the TX!
I flew mine with a regular TX on 27 MHz.
Cox had a few different models available.

I still have the glider version - came with bungee which amazingly seems in pretty good condition

I reckon I bought it mid 80s...

Blown plastic fuz in vibrant and polystyrene polyhedral wing

Not possible to fly at Crook peak as spine backed (with trees ) and woudl be pretty hard to get it back

I'll just have to move house....
