ABC Minisonic ideas.

Here is my attempt at converting the ABC minisonic to 2.4Ghz.
Using Phil’s SC encoder and FRsky RF module.
I wanted to hide the lipo battery inside a fake PP9. I think it looks fairly convincing.
The fake battery templates are available on singlechannel.co.uk

Yeah thanks Paul,
I think I was bored one day and just started playing around. Found them on phil’s Website. There’s loads of different types to print.
Next time I’ll leave the original electronics in and mount everything inside the fake battery. That should look cool.

That would be fantastic! Please give us pictures of how you fit it all in...... I would like to do the same with my RCS Guidance System, I have left the original gubbins inside my but the battery compartment is pretty full with all the 2.4 stuff.....

At the time I did it the Orange DIY module was unobtainable so I had to use a JR compatible DSM2/X module but even with a DIY module I think it would be a bit of a squeeze to get it all in a battery casing. I look forward to seeing how you do it.......

Some might remember that this was what I did with my Babcock BCT-10 conversion. I wanted to leave the original electronics in place (but disconnected). So one dummy battery contains Phil's encoder and 35 Mhz RF, and the other dummy battery contains 8 x 1.2v AA batteries. The red and green LEDs are positioned so they can be seen through the output bulb. Even use a 3 foot piano wire aerial as per original instructions.

My Mini-Sonic is in for the same treatment - it's in such great condition (inside and out) that it would be a shame to pull out the original electronics. Also there is loads of space in the dummy batteries for this one.

The Citizen-Ship transmitter also will be converted in a similar manner.
