Horizon GG transmitter

Post by HenkB »

Got this transmitter from a friend a few days ago who knew I was on the lookout for a genuine Galloping Ghost set to go with my Veron Robot.
It's the left (blue) one.

Could'nt find much on the internet and here on Mode Zero besides later proportion four channel sets. Since Horizon Systems came from Bedfordshire it would be strange if not one of the specialists here can help with filling in the details.
Questions that come to mind: what receiver and actuators did go with the set, are there any schematics or whatever any stories?

Henk from the very hot Netherlands. To hot to go flying ;)

Hi Henk,

You have a pair of RCM&E Simple-Simul GG Tx featured in the RCM&E December 1967, with the case and setup in the following two months. The case used Horizon Systems joysticks (nothing to do with modern Horizon Hobbies/Spektrum), and Horizon also produced full kits. I've added the scanned article below.

Henk, have a look on www.singlechannel.co.uk
There's info on Galloping Ghost radios there.

Thanks Shaun,
Couldn't find info on the Horizon transmitter there but may be I've overlooked that.
