Martin's Diamond Tape over/under method explained above works equally well using film or 'Tex as the hinge material. The overlap (anything between 2mm and 6mm) is fixed with a hot iron as usual then the chosen hinge sections can be cut off a long strip as required before being applied to the control surfaces.
Quick to do, can be huge or tiny, costs nowt and gives a nice free hinge without any slop. Alternate colours can be used to match the existing colour scheme.
I have used this hinge method on many models from large petrol glider tugs to .049 size jobbies. Never had a hinge failure.

Yes UHU Por (green and yellow tube) is the only one that works properly .I have used it on my indoor acrobatic models for years. Longest lasting 3 years old with hundreds of flights on the clock. Don't get carried away with the glue beads though. Too much isn't a good thing.

To be honest phil, I printed out the half size plans but when I looked at it, it was ridiculously small. I increased it to 65% and even that was very small but it’s what I decided on.
It came out at 14” span.
So that’s three sizes I have now, a 1.5 x which is 33”
The normal size which is 22” and my micro which is 14”

I might look into a half size one again once I see what the 14” one flys like.
It’s the motors that get expensive for the tiny ones.

Ron, guess, what I am just doing.
I printed the Sharkface plan at 50% and now I am looking at it and thinking, whether it will fly. It´s no problem to fit everything inside, I even have all necessary parts on hand including motor and esc. Maybe I will give it a try.

OMG
I have just flown the micro sharkie and it’s ballistic.
Far too sensitive and extremely fast almost to the point where it’s uncontrollable. However I did manage get a good flight and a nice close landing but you really need to be on the ball. It was all on the button. In reality this needs to be flown on reeds or propo.
I launched it at half throttle, middle setting on the button
And soon realised it was extremely quick. After a 2 minute flight I’d had enough so blipped the throttle to kill it, obviously it goes to full first and I can tell you, it’s unreal. I quickly blipped it again to kill the motor and brought it round for a landing I was proud of.
The glide was very nice for such a small model.
