Thank you john. Not out of the woods yet .The led goes out on receipt of carrier but yet to get it to switch properly, As I type I realise I have not tried tone yet . Suspect it’s a threshold problem.
Yes the Macgregor TX is one of my favourites. I also have the later flashier version but it’s very tinny and cheap feeling by comparison. The button action being nowhere half as nice as the one pictured. I also have Macgregor Ivy Mk1 and 2 sets and getting those going too - lots of fiddling
