I've always been impressed by the quality of Ron's transmitter builds and so I decided to have a go at a 'posh' build using the Flysky module & rx I bought recently from Banggood.
I used the Farnel powder-coated case, Maplin LED bezels, a DS438 microswitch (the large one) with a DS428 button, Farnel on/off toggle with bezel,
and a couple of special badges: on the rear theres a serial plate made by Ron (ta very much Ron!) and for the main logo plate I wanted something special so I drew one up and had it made by Name Badges International.
We're manically busy in August so the whole project was done in stolen minutes here & there but in all only took a couple of hours. The outside I'm quite happy with but inside I just dont seem to be able to route everything as neatly as Ron. It doesnt look too bad inside but I was hoping it would be perfect!
Here are the pics, click to enlarge:
It feels nice, well balanced, and of course works perfectly - and the Flysky range is terrific.
But at the end of the day most of my gear is Frsky so I've no particular need for a Flysky S/C outfit so I might just stick it on ebay and see what happens, starting at the component costs!
It is surprising how the costs add up:
