Mix & Match transmitter finished

Here is my Mix & Match transmitter finished (get it? Match?) :D

It was quite a tight squeeze getting everything in but it does go, The lipo is a Hyperion 270ma 2 cell with the blue shrink removed, great size, only 25mmx16mm.
Using a V8 hack module with all the original cables removed, prefer to use my own nice and thin cables plus you can cut them to the correct length, makes it neater.
Decided to mount the C&K button switch on the top, its actually quite a good feel. even better with the strip of sandpaper down the side for extra grip!

This actual box (inner and outer) was laser cut by Neil Igull, simple to put together and a perfect piston and barrel fit too. He also cuts a white plastic bezel for the ends with the holes laser cut into them. Im sure Neil would be willing to make them for anyone fancying a go at one.

Regarding the box, it’s also possible to make one from plasticard, I used this method on my second attempt and it worked very well. It’s just a lot more work that’s all.
Far easier to give Neil iGull an email.

Just finished another slide on cover.

Particularly like this one as it’s the brand I remember My father using in the early 70s

Here are the Aussie versions to match............ :P Note that ours used to be "...longer, thicker..." :o
I suspect the PC (no)fun police have been at it again :x
older front packaging

older back packaging

newer front packaging - less matches, same price...

Would especially suite anybody called "blue"

(PS - I don't smoke, just use them to light the wood heater in winter - takes an awful long time to go through a box, hence having both older & newer versions :) :) )

Wayne - you forgot to show the dodgy 'strikers', they put on the side nowadays - never works as well as the old solid 'strikers' (presumably a cost saving measure).

Also down to 45 matches per pack :(

Ron, you've excelled yourself. That's a great set and can't wait to see the box.
