Single channel encoder SEC-FJ 1

Post by oteru »

I will introduce it to a new forum.

PHIL and I were developing an encoder just at the same time.
I think that each has excellent features.

My encoder SEC-FJ1 has finished development for a while in April 2013,
but we are still adding or improving functionality.
Biography of encoder development is posted here.

When I joined the former forum, PHIL introduced this video of mine.

We will introduce the flight videos at the encoder.

It was also published in the July issue of Radio Control Technology Magazine 2014.

My hope is that SEC-FJ 1 can play an active part in "the sky of England".

Thank you

Hi Oteru
I had not seen your article in Radio Control Technology Magazine, well done!
Does "single-channel" have a strong following in Japan?
Around 1970 there we saw a few articles from Japan printed in English magazines,
I remember a Ki61 Hien which was CAR coupled aileron and rudder, a very
ambitious model which flew very well on single-channel. A brave pilot!

Cheers
Phil

(for anyone chatting with Oteru, we've found that a two-way Google translate works best, ie translate your English to Japanese, then copy & paste the Japanese into the 'from' and re-translate it back to English.
The result will almost certainly have mistakes, but by changing the phrasing of your English reply, and going through the two-way translate again, its possible to minimise translation errors. This is why my English replies might be phrased oddly)

Phil Thank you

I appreciate that you have Japanese in your reply.
I need to study English, but probably it will depend on translation.

> I never saw your article with Radio Control Technology Magazine.
It is a "small image" because publisher permission can not be obtained.

> Does "single channel" have strong support in Japan?
There are also persistent fans of "single channel" in Japan.
People who enjoyed it long ago.

But there are problems to enjoy single channel in Japan.
· There is no vast place to let it fly safely
· Legal issues (in case of wireless or certification of equipment)

As far as I know, I think there are no regular meetings for single-channel (including multi) in Japan.
But in Kyoto "retro flight society" is held in spring and autumn.

> I remember Ki 61 Hien which combined CAR, aileron and rudder
An ambitious model that flew well very well on one channel. Brave pilot!

I have an old radio control technology database from my friend.

(Click on others)
Unfortunately Ki 61 Hien rticle was not found.

There was an article on a single-channell combining aileron and rudder in the September 1963 issue.

By the way, it is the 2011 article of this site that I learned about you.

I am grateful to this site.

Thanks. Jackdaw
The author of "Hien" was "Mr. Fujio Arigaya"."有ケ谷 不二夫"
He is a famous person of Radio Control Genesis in Japan.

The article "Baby Thunderbird"" ベビーサンダーバード"in September 1963 was also his design.

It is an article about him.

I had one of the Kawasaki Hien's mentioned by Phil back in the day.

It flew well using Mini Mite / Mo actuators and was surprisingly well behaved. I eventually updated mine to 3 channel propo. The designer also did a superb single channel JU87 Stuka.

I was considering revisiting the Hien for my plans series in RCM&E but it would be a tall order building and finishing one in a month.. Some day possibly.

Thanks for posting Oteru, please keep it up. It's great to see the Japanese side of the hobby.

Thanks Shaun

It was very difficult to control the low wing aircraft with a single channel.
If it is a further scale model ...

I flighted "Atlas Pony"アトラスポニー on a single channel.
The transmitter was FT - 5E.
However, it crashed with high power CB radio because it was 27 MC.

The coder Futaba transmitter shown was the one I always wanted as a teenager but couldn't afford to buy . I flew my Hein on a British Stavely coder set. Did the same job, not as elegant as the Futaba but did use a clever transmission system to reduce interference problems. It was really the final development of the single channel radio. I'm sure Phil will explain how it worked.

FT - 5E was second - hand goods.
We also used second handed "Pulse mate".
I was about 14 years old.
